A Maurice, contrairement à d’autre pays, le 1er mai, bien qu’étant la fête du travail, est un jour essentiel en politique. En effet, ce jour là, les alliances et partis du pays organisent un grand meeting pour bien montrer leurs forces respectives.

The Electoral Supervisory Commission has recently published the Code of Conduct for the 2010 general elections. This new code is a revised version of the first Code of Conduct which was used for the 2009 partial elections in Moka/Quartier Militaire (constituency #8). There is still no law enforcement to the code so that it is only being proposed that the candidates adhere to it on a voluntary basis.
